Finished!

Well, we finally finished the cabin.  Its been a long haul, and a ton of work, but in the end, worthwhile.
Last weekend we were all out finishing odds and ends such as trim, cabinets, built in table, and I went out last Tuesday and Wednesday to finish the Propane light install.  We also spent the night out enjoying the peace and quiet out there.
Watching the light fade on the mountains of the Coast Range, fire crackling, glass of wine in hand, in the comfort of our cabin, was a gratifying moment.
We could look at every aspect of the construction and harken back to the day that particular bit of work was completed, and all it took to complete.  Very satisfying.
Heres a chronicle of the work from start to finish.

More video fun

Since its cold, I'm making some videos that I have been putting off for a while.
This one is of the Old Dawson Trail ride 4 of us did last February.

Tramping in New Zealand

They call it tramping, we call it hiking, but either way, hiking in NZ is fantastic.  No bears to worry about, huts everywhere so no tent.  Which is great, as it rains.  A lot, so being able to dry out at the end of the day is a good thing.  Having said that, we only had three days of light drizzle.  Apparently La Nina` winters translate to dry and warm in the antipodes.
So here is the video I put together of our trip.  I need to get better video editing software, as the Windows offering is a bit limited.  Hope you like it.

Merry Christmas!

Nothing like a christmas day bike ride at -26C to clear the head.

We now return from station identification

Yes, it's been quite some time since the last post, but with good reason.
Work caused a bit of panic back in the fall, but that got sorted out.
But the biggest reason was being in New Zealand for 2 months.  So there.
Since the last post, there was some of this:

More looking for Sheep

And a lot of this:
Yet more alpine wandering (and wondering...)

A dash of this:
Looking for Moose in the skinny stuff.

A smidgeon of that:
The snow looking out of place.

Waaaaay too much of this nonsense:

The snow came early and put a serious damper on our Moose hunt.

Managed to get out and enjoy the alpine colours:
Somewhere near Whitehorse.

More near-to-Whitehorse.

Comeing back from Echo Tarn.

And there was TWO WHOLE DAMN MONTHS OF THIS!!!!!

Chillin in NZ.

I'll be posting heaps more shots and stories from NZ shortly.
Merry christmas.
